If you choose to modify your equipment by connecting this board, you must ensure the saftey / compliance of your equipment as modified. If you are not qualified to do so, return for a refund. Always isolate power before starting work. Take care as dangerous voltages. The Faikout is a development board that you can use as a controller for many Daikin air-con units with local web controls and home assistant integration - backed by a community of thousands of users and active open source development. See www.faikout.uk for more info. ### Options - Case is a 3D printed resin two part snap together case - Two cable options - one is **GENERIC** with pin header sockets for 2.5mm spaced pins - fits many aircons including those where you need to connect to two headers on the board. The other is known as a *Type-B* cable, which has a 2mm spaced pins plug (JST PAP-05V-S) which fits more modern aircon units. You need to work out what cable you need - see the [www.faikout.uk](http://www.faikout.uk/) web site for more info. #### Ethernet option The Ethernet board has an RJ45 10/100 Ethernet connector for improved reliability and privacy. The Ethernet has an isolating transformer and clearances. The PoE Ethernet has additional opto-isolators on S21 interface. However, I have to stress **this is a prototype/dev board for specialist/hobbyist use only, and is NOT certified for grid power safety isolation. DO NOT USE WITH X403 CONNECTOR or any connector with dangerous voltages.** ### More about the board Everyone knows Daikin make some of the best air conditioners out there. But their implementation of IoT (remote control over the Internet) is now totally cloud based, and they are even limiting the use of the API access rates, and still needs Internet to work. If you are planning on integrating your air conditioners into something like an MQTT or Home Assistant in your home or office, or simply want very basic web control / status for your units, this unit provides these features. It plugs in where the old Daikin WiFi module goes. The product is still being improved all the time, and supported with a large community of users. A remote control and display linked via Bluetooth BLE is also available. ### More info *This is an open source project and so anyone can sell this (with trademarks removed), however this is the original Faikout board (previously Faikin) from the designer and coder, and helps support the ongoing work and support for Faikout.* [Source code, PCB design, support, discussions, list of known compatible devices](https://www.faikout.uk/) ### Simple set up Appears as access point with web setup page on 2.4GHz WiFi. Local web page control over WiFi, no app needed, does not need external internet, nor any sort of cloud service/signup. Automated control is possible using an MQTT broker if required. Can integrate with Home Assistant via MQTT. Can also integrate with some BLE temperature sensor as external reference in room. And, of course the new Faikout Remote board. ### Cabling You will need a cable! The optional generic cable fits many aircon units, and if not it provides a good starting point for making your own cable. The *Type-B* cable fits many. Ideally a Daikin with S21, but can be X50A and X35, or X403, but check the web site please. ### What makes it special? A key feature is no login, no sign-up, no account, no cloud, no snooping, no AI, or any such, just local control, and link to local Home Assistant if you want.
