## Description

Use the **[Apple-1 Software Library](https://apple1software.com)** for plug-and-play operation. Use Uncle Bernie's **TurboType™** method for faster transfers. For example, use [BASIC](https://apple1software.com/programming/basic/huston/) or play [Mini-Startrek](https://apple1software.com/games/mini-startrek/) within 30 seconds. Get remote control of your vintage computer using a terminal application (like [Minicom](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minicom)). Select a baudrate of **57.6 kbps** or 9600 bps. Orchestrate demonstrations of an Apple-1 or Apple II by the use of **control characters**. See the [manual](https://8bitflux.com/downloads/keyboard-serial-terminal-manual.pdf) for full details of the possibilities.

Flip over the adapter socket on the backside and use it with an **Apple 2** as well. Browse for games on **[ASCIIExpress.net](https://asciiexpress.net/gameserver/)** and just copy-paste the bytecode. Attach the vintage keyboard of the Apple to the **passthrough** connector. Use the **toggle** button to switch over to your vintage keyboard and enjoy games on the real machine right away.

**Important for Apple 2 users**, please note that the KST is not meant to be an alternative for ADTPro. The KST uses the keyboard socket for communication, while ADTPro uses the cassette interface, or a serial interface inserted into an expansion slot. The KST does not support the loading of disk images, use ADTPro for this. However, the KST can be used to transfer / auto-type bytecode (using the System Monitor) or BASIC code. The ADTPro program can be started and controlled remotely on an Apple ][ by using the KST.

Read the documentation for more details. The unsoldered kit comes with the pcb, all parts, schematics and bill of materials. The Apple-1 and Apple 2 in the pictures are for illustrative purposes only and are not part of the kit.
