California STEAM was started in the summer of 2017 in Stockton, CA by Alicia and Sander van de Bor. They added Art to STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) to create STEAM. STEM and STEAM education is a growing necessity to meet the future demands of STEM jobs in the upcoming decades. These jobs are required in almost every field, from manufacturing to medical. California STEAM develops creative solutions for all ages. Their classes are taught at several locations throughout Stockton (libraries, Mexican Heritage Center etc.) The products developed by California STEAM are a combination of Art and Technology. These are designed to motivate young makers to get more familiar with electronics and programming.
