RCorion CM5 Carrier Board is a compact carrier platform engineered for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 and designed for demanding embedded, robotics, UAV and industrial applications. The board focuses on reliable power distribution, signal integrity and straightforward system integration while maintaining a highly compact footprint. Its dimensions are very close to the Compute Module 5 itself, making it well suited for space-constrained embedded designs and compact system integrations. Key features

  • Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 compatible
  • Gigabit Ethernet
  • USB-C connectivity
  • GPIO and system expansion interfaces
  • Integrated power management
  • Compact form factor with dimensions close to the CM5 module itself
  • Multilayer PCB architecture with five dedicated ground/reference layers
  • Dedicated power-distribution layer for robust power delivery
  • Carefully designed ground and power architecture providing low-impedance return paths and improved isolation between functional sections
  • PCB layout engineered with signal integrity, power integrity and reliable high-speed operation in mind The carrier board is suitable for applications including ground control stations, robotics, UAV systems, autonomous platforms, edge computing and embedded Linux development. Designed and engineered by RCorion in the Netherlands. Technical documentation, integration assistance and custom engineering services are available through RCorion. If you require a modified version of the board for your specific project, including interface changes, connector adjustments, power changes or other custom requirements, contact RCorion through rcorion.com or send a direct message to discuss your application.

Why run a threshold pre-order campaign?

This pre-order campaign allows RCorion to organise the next production batch of the CM5 Carrier Board efficiently. The board has been developed for compact embedded, robotics and UAV applications, with a focus on reliable power distribution, high-speed interfaces and a form factor close to the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 itself.

The prototype has successfully booted and operated a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5, including CM5 flashing, network-based web interface operation, video streaming and GPIO control. These tests have been used to validate the core functionality of the carrier board prior to the production batch.

By combining early orders into a production batch, we can manufacture, assemble and test the boards efficiently before shipment.
