The Bang & Olufsen Beosystem 6000, Beosystem 8000 and Beocenter 5000 and 700x series are likely to have issues with the display LED segments not lighting up. This includes Beocenter 5000, 7000, 7002, 7007, 7700 but also Beomaster 6000 (Type 22xx), Beomaster 8000, Beocord 6000, Beocord 6002, Beocord 8002, Beocord 8004 and Beocord 9000.

This kit contains a set of replacement display modules by own design, with suitable LEDs already installed. The display modules fit the Beomaster 8000 without modifications. The original display plastic housing is reused for an authentic restoration. The part is naturally NOT an original spare part but is 100% compatible with the original.

Since the modern LEDs are brighter than the originals, it is suggested to add a layer of film to dim the LEDs (suitable film is included in your order). With the film, the brightness matches the original brightness. No other modifications are needed to install this module.

Repair notes

When restoring the display modules, it is encouraged to replace the potentiometers 8R11 (reset) and 8R15 (brightness) and the connectors P72, P73, P74, P75. These must be ordered separately when placing your order. The display brightness circuit must be re-adjusted as per the service manual.

Optional extras

• The board to board (female) connectors are often corroded and should be replaced when refurbishing the display PCB, otherwise, other issues may occur including sudden reset and seemingly dead segments
• The 8R11 (reset) and 8R15 (brightness) potentiometers should be replaced and adjusted according to the service manual when refurbishing PCB8.

Installation

Replacing the display modules is relatively straightforward, although requires removing the original display modules carefully, disassembling them and then replacing the display PCB. A detailed installation guide is provided with each display purchase. Please do NOT buy, if you are not confident in replacing this part yourself!
