ANAVI Fume Extractor is a smart, open source, solder smoke absorber to keep fumes away during soldering. It is powered by a Wi-Fi development board with an ESP8266, an 80 mm fan, and a replaceable filter. There are dedicated slots for a mini OLED I²C display and a MQ-135 gas sensor module, as well as slots for up to three additional I²C sensor modules for measuring temperature, humidity, light, and barometric pressure. Furthermore, there is an extra GPIO for connecting external peripherals and UART pins are available for easy flashing of custom firmware.
The default open source firmware allows you to connect ANAVI Fume Extractor to your Wi-Fi network to gather data from various sensors and control it remotely. Through the lightweight messaging protocol MQTT ANAVI Fume Extractor works with popular open source home automation software tools such as Home Assistant, OpenHAB, and ioBroker.
ANAVI Fume Extractor comes as a do-it-yourself (DIY) kit. It is lightweight and can even be portable with a USB power bank. The filters and all parts are replaceable. Each kit includes two foam media filters. For long-term maintenance in future you can purchase extra filters from distributors of electronic components. For example carbon filters or 80 mm, 45 PPI foam media filters.
