An extension adapter for the 8-bit Workbench™ or Super Breadboard 2 .
Hook up a old computer keyboard (e.g. from an Apple-1, an Apple 2 or a Sol-20) to the 8-bit Workbench product line. Test it, do conversion experiments or just see how things work. Getting excited? Strip off the high nibble of the ASCII code (use the proto-area) and use a vintage keyboard as input device for the Byte Adder Subtractor.
Depending on the connected keyboard, a power supply is needed that supplies -12V or +12V. Special keyboard buttons (like reset or break) can be tied to the action-signal. The strobe can be jumpered to the clock. Attach the Logic Probe option, check the logic values (high, low or float) with ease. It has a spring-loaded pin to make good contact with e.g. legs of an IC.
Extend and combine this Hex Keyboard with our other kits to learn and do (vintage) computer experiments. Visit our store to get more information on those products.
Buy three or more connecting 8-bit Workbench™ kits and receive a 15% discount. Use the code 8BW-KIT-DEAL in your cart.
