This project was designed to provide a lower cost replacement for the commercial auto colour changer available from Brother for their 1980's electronic knitting machines.
Bring your vintage Brother 950i back to life with an affordable, modern replacement for the original Brother KRC-900 auto colour changer. Designed by brain, built by hand, AutoChanger lets you automate colour changes on your knitting projects without hunting down a rare, decades-old commercial unit.
Fully open-source hardware and software. The complete design files, firmware, and build documentation are freely available if you want to understand exactly how it works or tinker further down the track.
You will need the arm from your KRC-900. The automatic changing functionality relies on the dual bed sinker plate.
You will also need your own USB-C cable.
Colours are random, if you request one specifically I will do my best but there are no guarantees.
Doing my best, but shipping these days is hard.
If you are in the US, you may have to pay a Merchandise Processing Fee of $34. I just don't know anymore.
If you're in Europe, your local transport may charge more. I have heard of a lot of flat out rejections at customs.
If you're in Australia, $12 Australian dollarydoos and if will be at your house by the weekend. I also accept dollarbucks from the younger audience.
In demand. 2 people bought this in the last 24 hours.
