UPDI Standalone Programmer for Microchip AVR, ATtiny & ATmega Microcontrollers
The UPDI Standalone Programmer is designed for programming Microchip AVR microcontrollers that use the UPDI programming interface. It supports ATtiny 0-series, 1-series, and 2-series, AVR DA, DB, and DD devices, as well as the ATmega 0-series—all without requiring a computer during programming.
Simply load your HEX file(s), configure the programmer, and it's ready to operate as a completely standalone programmer. To determine whether your MCU is supported, please refer to the device compatibility list below.
The UPDI Standalone Programmer is ideal for mass production, programming replacement devices, or updating firmware for customers. If you regularly program multiple devices with the same firmware, this programmer makes the process fast and simple.

Programming is performed through the single-wire UPDI interface using only three connections: VCC, GND, UPDI. A programming cable is included.
There is a growing need for an affordable standalone programmer that supports the UPDI protocol. Unlike traditional programming software, there is no need to install a large, slow, and complicated application just to program a microcontroller.
The UPDI Standalone Programmer is fast, reliable, and easy to use. A computer is only required for the initial setup or whenever you want to change the stored HEX files or configuration settings. The programmer is designed to work with TeraTerm, a simple free terminal program.
Once configured, the programmer operates completely in standalone mode. It can:
All programming data—including Flash, EEPROM, User Row, Fuse Bits, and Lock Bits—is stored in the programmer's internal memory until you choose to replace it. Standalone operation is enabled simply by installing jumper J1. It couldn't be easier. Be sure to watch the demonstration video to see how quickly the programmer can be configured and used.
