Program AVR microcontrollers without a computer! The AVR Standalone ISP Programmer allows you to program compatible Microchip AVR devices without connecting to a PC after the initial setup. Simply load your firmware once, and the programmer stores it internally for repeated use. (See the Device List below for the complete list of supported devices.)

How It Works

Connect the programmer to your computer.

Load your HEX files using a terminal program (Tera Term recommended).

Configure the programming options.

Enable Standalone Mode by installing jumper J1.

Program as many AVR devices as needed. No computer required.

Once configured, the programmer retains the Flash, EEPROM, Fuse, and Lock Bit data until you choose to update it.

This programmer was originally designed in 2008 to solve a real-world problem: programming a remote solar-powered sensing system without carrying a laptop, power supply, and programming equipment into the field.

The design has since evolved through seven hardware revisions and has been used successfully thousands of times for development, production, and service applications.

This is the latest version with expanded device support and years of proven reliability.
