The Bang & Olufsen Beosystem 6000 and Beosystem 8000 products are likely to have issues with the display LED segments not lighting up. Beomaster 6000, Beomaster 8000, Beocord 600x, Beocord 800x and Beocord 9000 are prone to having these issues. Products such as Beocenter 5000,7000,7002,7007,7700 are also likely to have display issues.

Compatibility

This kit contains a set of self designed, replacement display PCBs with suitable LEDs already installed. The display modules fit the Beomaster 8000 without modifications. The display can be easily installed in the existing plastic housing. The part is naturally NOT an original spare part but is 100% compatible with the original.

Since the LEDs are brighter than the originals, it is suggested to add a layer of film to dim the LEDs (suitable film is included in your order). With the film, the brightness closely resembles the original brightness. No other modifications are needed to install this module, as the LEDs already operate at well below their rated max current.

When restoring the display modules, it is encouraged to replace the potentiometer 8R15 and the connectors P72, P73, P74, P75. These must be ordered separately when placing your order. The display brightness circuit must be adjusted as well.

Part replaces original B&O spare part no 8330016 (8DP1), 8330015 (8DP2), 8330013 (8DP3), 8330012 (8DP4)

Parts included

  • Balance display (DP1)
  • Volume display module (DP2)
  • Source selection display module (DP3)
  • Source selection display module (DP4)
  • 2.54mm pin headers of correct length
  • Film for dimming the display brightness

Optional:

  • The board to board connectors are often corroded and should be replaced when refurbishing the display PCB, otherwise, other issues may occur including sudden reset and seemingly dead segments
  • The 8R11 (reset) and 8R15 (brightness) potentiometers should be replaced and adjusted according to the service manual when refurbishing PCB8.

Installation

Replacing the display modules is relatively straightforward, although requires removing the original display modules carefully, disassembling them and then replacing the display PCB. Please do NOT buy, if you are not confident in replacing this part yourself! A detailed installation guide is provided with each display purchase.
