Bleepsy

Bleepsy is a small programmable audio toy inspired by the soundboxes from the 80s and 90s that would create sound effects such as sirens, alarms, laser guns and explosions. Bleepsy plays 8 different sound effects or simple melodies of up to 64 tones each. The sounds are a combination of square wave tones and noise tones of various frequencies. Bleepsy comes with 8 preprogrammed sounds, but each sound can be replaced by recording your own sounds.

What is Bleepsy?

• Eight slots for sound effects or melodies of up to 64 tones, mixing square-wave and noise tones
• Play the built-in or custom sounds, adjust speed with the SPEED / FREQ potentiometer, toggle glissando with the GLISS switch
• Recording mode: build your own sound effects from tones and noise
• Powered by three AAA batteries
• Sounds are stored in EEPROM and persist when batteries are replaced
• Optional serial control for advanced users lets you play, store, and dump sounds with simple text commands

What's included in the kit?

Kits are shipped to you in a quality white cardboard box that will fit in any normal letterbox. All the components you need to put your Bleepsy together are included, the microcontroller is already assembled on the PCB, so no surface-mount soldering is required. The kit also includes a leaflet with a brief overview of the instructions and links to the assembly guide and full instructions.

You can also get Bleepsy as a fully assembled and tested unit.
