Description

Tired of always replacing the CR2032 battery on the planes you bought as solder kit? Well say no more, now you can have your planes on display and powered by USB-C. This fully SMD board is a bit trickier to solder than the planes currently on offer. As an added bonus, you can use the bottom side as an SMD experiment board (which has pads available for all voltage available on the board). As a result, however, you cannot put the powered PCB on a conductive (metal) surface.

N.B. The planes are not included in this kit, buy yours in our store!

Kit contents

  • USB C connector
  • LDO (SOT23)
  • 2 x 5k1 resistor (0603)
  • 2 x 10µF Capacitor (0805)
  • Slide switch
  • PCB

Assembly instructions

  • start off with the USB Connector, followed by the LDO and then all the passives.
  • Thoroughly inspect the USB connector for shorts before connecting it! Shorts can easily be removed with some flux and solder wick.
  • Remove the planes from their base and solder them on the FS-Plate. Pay attention to the + mark indicated on the board and the planes!

We make various solder kits, some are useful, others are just fun to solder and look at.
