The HardCode HC22003 is the galvanically isolated USB-C-to-UART programmer for the ESP8266/ESP32 series. It does everything the non-isolated HC22002 does — USB-to-UART bridging plus automatic reset and boot for esptool, the Arduino IDE and ESP-IDF — and adds an isolation barrier between your PC and the target: a digital isolator on the data lines plus an isolated DC-DC converter on the power rail.
That isolation is what you want for mains-referenced boards, high-voltage front ends, different-ground targets, or any setup prone to ground loops — protecting your laptop and giving clean, reliable flashing where a non-isolated adapter would be risky. Genuinely hard to find: most ESP programmers on the market are non-isolated.
For ordinary single-ground bench targets, the lower-cost non-isolated HC22002 does the same flashing job.
