This is a kit to make a Pseudo Random Number Generator (PRNG) for the RC2014. It is based on Linear Feedback Shift Register (LFSR) technology. A PRNG can be useful for a bunch of hings, including but not limited to:
It just depends how geeky you want to get...
My testing shows it has better randomness characteristics that RC2014 BASIC's SW Random Generator. If you use the latter to pick lottery numbers, my tests show it will pick 27 more often than 10 (to take just one example).
It offers a choice of clock inputs:
Its output is available as:
A PCB and all components required are included, including sockets for all ICs. A PDF with full instructions is available at the link below.
MG011 has been designed for RC2014 with reference to the RC2014 Module Template. All pinouts used and the physical outline are in compliance with the RC2014 Module Template.
RC2014 is a trademark of RFC2795 Ltd.
MG011 has been designed for hobbyist use only and is not to be used for safety or business critical applications. MG011 is not designed to be used to support cryptographic or transmission security functions protecting data of any kind of value or sensitivity at rest or in transit. The kit assumes basic through-hole soldering skills.
The payment of any import taxes and duties will be the responsibility of the Buyer.
