mi/mo is a very simple module which simply implements the standard MIDI I/O circuitry as described in the MIDI 1.0 specification.

• Inputs
  • mi (TRS) — type A or B compatible
  • i (pin)
• Outputs
  • o (2x pin) — to connect to other MIDI-capable modules
  • mo (TRS) — switchable type A/B
  • t (pin) — buffered-thru copy of the 'i' input

The module is split into two halves:

MIDI signals arriving at the TRS in (mi) socket are relayed to the 'o' pin for connection to other IMDI modules. IMDI signals arriving at the 'i' pin are relayed to the TRS out (mo) socket, as well as being buffered to the IMDI thru pin 't' For a bare-bones MIDI system, this could be used directly with the existing MIDI-capable modules, rather than using the mb/1, however no channel extraction is carried out (see µmdx for a micro-module which performs this task).
