SC611 is a MicroSD card storage module for the 40-pin RC2014/RCBus.

Support is included in RomWBW but not in the Small Computer Monitor (SCM). The current stable release of RomWBW (v3.4) needs to be configured to include support, while support is enabled in the RomWBW Development Snapshot v3.5.0-dev.95 and later. To enable support in RomWBW the following line needs to be added to the RCBus_std configuration file:

SDENABLE .SET TRUE ; SD: ENABLE SD CARD DISK DRIVER (SD.ASM)

RomWBW supports the MicroSD card as a storage device. This module provides simple bit-bang data transfer so it is relatively slow, similar to a floppy disk from 1980, but with much greater capacity. RomWBW includes a RAM disk to speed up disk intensive activities, such as compiling code, so file storage speed isn't as critical as it might sound.

The RCBus I/O port address for this module is set with jumpers to any 8-bit address.

Compatibility

This module conforms fully to the RCBus specification v1.0 for 40-pin systems.

The RCBus specification includes RCBus-2014 (both RC2014 standard 40-pin bus and RC2014 enhanced 60-pin bus) and also the full 80-pin RCBus. The 80-pin RCBus provides support for advanced Z80 features, such as the interrupt daisy-chain, as well as support for other processor families.

The Kit

The full kit includes all the components needed to make the module, as shown in the first picture. Other modules and backplanes shown in the other pictures are not included. You will require tools, solder, and cleaning materials to assemble this kit.

The MicroSD card adapter, shown in the first picture, is included in the kit, but you will need to supply a MicroSD card. 2GB to 16GB cards are recommended. The MicroSD card adapter is supplied fully assembled, as shown in the second picture.

All of the through-hole integrated circuits supplied in this kit are brand new parts from major suppliers, such as Mouser, DigiKey, RS and Farnell.
