It's the new and upgraded version of the Sprig-C3 ESP32 Development kit. It uses the ESP32-C6 chip which supports multiple IoT-friendly protocols like Zigbee, Matter, and Thread, while also featuring WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5 BLE.
Other new features include:
Integrated Neopixel RGB LED for customizable advanced indications.
Integrated IMU chip (in this BETA version it is not verified that it works due to drivers unavailability).
Upgraded BMS which monitors the temperature of the battery using an NTC thermistor
New and improved battery charging IC, with dedicated status LEDs for "charging" and "done charging" states.
Dedicated ON-OFF switch for cutting-off the battery from the board without the need of desoldering.
Sprig-ESP32 is a family of microcontroller boards - part of the Sprig-stack ecosystem. Sprig-stack is an assortment of electronics modules designed to make it easier to create custom IoT battery-powered modules by providing many grouped funcionalities in smal, easily programmable and deployable boards. Sprig-C6 is the latest addition to the Sprig-stack ecosystem which enables the creation of DIY IoT mesh networks leveraging the advanced features of the ESP32-C6 IC. The Sprigs are mostly developed to provide a single-board solution to the creation of battery-powered projects by providing precise battery monitoring using a fuel-gauge IC, and advanced battery charging and protection. These are all integrated into the board so no setup is required. Just solder your li-po / li-ion cell and you're ready to go!
It's a unique combination of lithium battery charging - protection - and andvanced monitoring. With the Sprig-C6 you can just focus on your projects' other important needs and not worry about soldering various charging modules or voltage dividers for monitoring. This version takes it one step further by also providing battery temperature monitoring, a Neopixel LED, an accelerometer/magnetometer (NOT working in BETA), and an ON-OFF switch.
