Tennis for two HD

This is a kit for playing tennis for two which is one of the first video games ever made. It is intended to be as close and accurate to the original game as possible and designed for exhibitions, museum and other collections. Due to its very high resolution and update rate it "feels" analog but it is a digital recreation!

Check the Wikipedia page for info about the original.

You need an ANALOG XY Oscilloscope to play this properly with DC coupling. A digital scope may work but will not look as sharp and responsive as an analog CRT scope.

Features:

  • Gameplay and design is as close to the original game as possible
  • Fading ball trail simulation
  • Air resistance
  • Simple tennis rules to determine the next player
  • "Smash" function accelerates ball harder at low angles
  • 5V range XY output for analog oscilloscopes
  • USB powered
  • USB firmware update (ST DFU bootloader)
  • DIY friendly connections
  • STM32F303CB based
  • 12b dac output
  • High refresh rate

Project video:

Info: This version is an upgraded variant compared to the one shown in the video with a different processor, USB-C and LED outputs

The system is available as different versions:

  • A standalone PCB with 2 potentiometers and SMA connectors included:

    • Includes just the base pcb, SMA connectors and potentiometers
    • Image 1 + 2
  • A full kit intended to be used with external controller boxes:

    • Includes PCB, controller box, potentiometer and buttons
  • A custom made "museum quality" kit with more accurate controller boxes and you can choose whatever parts you want.

    • Contact me for options before ordering
    • Choose different buttons, potentiometers, connectors for the main box (sma, din, banana...).
    • Also choose this if you need a 10V analog range for some vintage oscilloscopes as this requires modifications to the circuit and an external power supply.
    • See last 3 images for examples made for museums
