Ultimate SID controller

The MIDI-SID was already a fantastic custom build machine, but with this device connected to it, absolutely anything can be created in a short time and without much menu searching. The device is logically structured and feels solid. It feels very ‘live’, and tweaking the knobs, sliders, and filters is truly addictive. Sometimes I do miss the graphical link on the MIDI-SID’s display; I always found that handy for visualizing the sound. Hopefully, that can be linked with an update. Otherwise, it is a very nice machine for purists who want control and don’t want to sift through menus. Direct control, very pleasant! Recommended for MIDI-SID owners who appreciate convenience.

A Niffty MidiSid desgin/explortion tool.

Fast shipping, well built, fun add on for you MidiSID unit. Great manual (reading is a must). Sheila is very responsive to questions and support. The MPCS Lets me explore and design sounds on the Midisid I would never get to or think of via menu diving.
Love the hands on aspect of the MPCS.
Con: like the MidiSid no power switch. Since the MPCS is USB powered it is a bit harder to add an external power switch then it was with my MidiSID, Moog Mother -32, Sirin, Mavis and Werkstatt-01. Shame on Moog for no power switches. Luckly my powered USB hub has on-off switches on each port. Saves a lot of wear and tear not having to unplug USB powered devices.
Summary : A fun and useful tool for physical control oriented people like myself. Learning much more about the SID now.
Semi-con : One direction midi communication between Midi-SID and MPCS means I have to often use pass thru mode on the MPCS to change instruments on the MidiSID . For others who don't switch instruments as often as I do it might not even notice.
