The Double Double TeensyROM+

I’ve been a big fan of Sensorium’s tech ever since the original TeensyROM came out, so grabbing the new TeensyROM+ was pretty much a no-brainer for me. It takes everything that made the original cartridge such a handy tool for Commodore 64 and 128 users, then pushes it forward with a newer Teensy 4.1-based design.
The new 0.4 board brings some genuinely useful upgrades too, like a Real Time Clock, DMA control, external reset detection, and a second button. That extra button is especially interesting, since it currently works as a Super Snapshot 5-style freezer cartridge feature, with more options planned down the road. It’s a clever addition, and it makes the cartridge feel that much more versatile.
What really sets the TeensyROM+ apart, though, is the support around it. Sensorium keeps the firmware moving with regular updates through a solid GitHub repo, and the active Discord community makes it easy to get help, ask questions, and keep up with what’s coming next. Put simply, the hardware is excellent, the software keeps getting better, and the community support is exactly what you’d hope for from a modern Commodore expansion.
