Brilliant Product and Excellent Quality

The product is very well made and although it can be quite tricky to install if you take your time and follow the guide including watching the video it is achievable and the results are well worth the effort. This is an absolute must when your Sony RH1 has a failed display. This replacement display is pin sharp, better than the original and will hopefully outlast the Minidisc player unlike the original. A highly recommended quality product that is in short supply unfortunately due to its high demand and limited quantities.

Rebirth of my MZ-RH1!

I cant emphasize enough, what a great product this is. The new module is excellent. The instructions, both in video form and web based photos and description are spot on. It took me around 3 hours+, but that's because I was ultra careful. The most difficult part that takes a lot of patience, is the removal of the old oled module. Take your time, apply moderate heat (although I have a heating gun, I preferred using a hair dryer.) It does take time and effort, but once you pass that, the rest is pretty straightforward.

Incredible engineering for the RH1

Sir68k is a hero in the MD community for putting the time into creating this solution. It’s perfect and looks amazing. Be careful when disassembling the RH1 as there are many tiny plastic pieces that can snap. Other than that I am so excited to have my RH1 back in action!

Perfect replacement display

Never would I have thought to see my RH1 with a bright display again. It’s beautiful now and just like I remember it when I bought it from new back in the days. As expected the screen has a higher resolution and everything appears smaller, but I’ll happily accept that as a tradeoff for a dead screen. Installation isn’t too complicated but the instructions could be a little bit more clear. Still, I managed it without damaging anything.

It is such an upgrade to the fading old OLEDs that the difference is just unbelievably good.
The installation guide and film are very detailed and help even beginners to perform the modification easily.
Happy to have my MZ-RH1 in my pocket with this new display :)

Amazing replacement OLED screen for the Sony RH-1 MiniDisc player

Ordered a couple of these OLED screens (actually 4 in total, 2 on a previous order), for repair in 3 minidisc players. I repair vintage Sony Discman’s and Minidisc players and these OLED’s were a great replacement for the originals in the RH-1. The instructions were easy to follow, although dismantling was a process. Delivery was swift and tracking was provided. Well packaged and both screens in protective ESD bags.
If your original OLED screens suffer fading on your RH-1 then I highly recommend these.

Just the thing for reviving my Sony MZ-RH1 players

These displays are really good and give new life to the Sony MZ-RH1 device. They fit really well and with the minimum of alteration to the interior of the unit. Fitting them isn't the easiest - and this isn't the fault of the replacement screens, it's down to the way Sony built the MZ-RH1 in the first place. It's quite fiddly to get the display/control module apart and get it all back together again, as there are quite a few small parts that want to escape. But take a deep breath, take your time and pay close attention to the instructions and the videos on YouTube - and it's well worth the effort! Really good seller and communications too!
