A neat 8-bit toggle keyboard (one byte) to be used with your breadboard, Arduino or experiments.
Use the little switch on the lower deck to flip the bits in an instance. The ones' complement of the set byte is then active as output, as shown by a LED. Clip on a logic tester to the GND and +5V pads and check bit voltage levels, or measure logic signals of your prototype-in-construction.
Optionally extend it with a Super Breadboard at the top edge. Enjoy short circuit protection and have both +3.3V and +5V at hand. It clearly separates data input and output of your prototype. Works with the 8-bit Workbench™ too: use the action-button to deposit the toggled byte and see its hexadecimal or octal representation right away. With it you can further learn about logic and see how number systems work.
Extend and combine this Binary Keyboard with our other kits to learn and do (vintage) computer experiments. Visit our store to get more information on those products. A discount is applied when you order a combination of these kits that connect together.
Two more products are in the development pipeline: a Hex Keyboard and a Terrific Timer (a highly versatile 555-timer board).
