With the introduction of the 550 and 5XL series, Dymo released new labels with a small RFID chip. This chip prevents the use of much cheaper 3rd party labels that used to work on their older models like the 450 and 4XL.
You can save up to 90% in label cost by using this chip.
1) Install this chip between the RFID reader and the mainboard. 2) Configure the label type you would like to print. 3) Dymo connect will recognise this label as original. 4) Print your labels!
It's that simple. You can print an unlimited amount of 3rd party labels.
Yes! Since the RFID board is connected, as soon as you install an original roll of labels, the PrintFree module will recognise this roll and will make sure it is recognised by the labelwriter.
The following labels are supported. Note that some labels are region locked. Only labels that are sold in your region will work in your printer.
At this moment it only works with printers manufactuered in January 2024 an before. For newer manufactured printers you will need to solder to pins on the mainboard to disable an onboard eeprom.
