WARNING

Household mains voltages are present in this product. I take no responsibility for any injury or death resulting directly or indirectly due to the usage of this product. Please be aware of the hazards and risks of high voltage while using this product.

Note

  • The serial to USB (without 5V) interface does not work well with my Creality Ender 3. A USB port directly from the Raspberry Pi needs to be used for this printer.
  • The module does not come with a Raspberry Pi or the 40mm fan.
  • The C13 outlet cable is the one seen in the last picture.

What is it?

This is a module that connects to your Raspberry Pi's 40 pin header. This module serves as a universal solution to run a remote server - like Octoprint for your 3D printer. The module has a relay which can be used to switch on/off power to your printer through the Raspberry Pi server. I also added mechanical holes and a 4 pin connector for a 40mm fan.

Why did I make it?

I made this because I wanted a module to power the Raspberry Pi that runs OctoPrint for my printer. I also wanted to be able to power on/off the printer using the web UI. I added a serial to USB converter without the 5V supply, so that I can use it to connect to the printer's USB without backpowering it.
