Product: The Hat - hi-hat controller for Alesis Nitro 14 sold

Get ready to up your Nitro Max hi-hat game

We all know that lower end e-kits usually have a crappy implementation of hihats. Typical implementation is just a plastic cymbal and a pedal that move all over the place or just doesn't reproduce the feel of a hihat stand. The Nitro Max's pedal doesn't give any real resistance as you would get with real hihats and in my set up, it would move all over the place if I tried to do anything more than quarternotes. I purchased the Nitro hat with a certain amount of skepticism - I honestly expected it to break after a couple of weeks, but after 2 1/2 months straight of usage, 30-60 minutes every single day, it's held up and is just as good as the day I installed it. And there's something about seeing the hihats move while you play to really get you to want to use them more - I think my left foot co-ordination has improved at least 2-fold since deploying the Nitro Hat, now that I get visual feedback as well as the audible feedback.
If you're on a Nitro Max kit and are looking for your next upgrade, this is it. Otherwise, you need to replace the entire kit if you want to use a hihat stand (I suppose that's part of Alesis' design - planned obsolescence ). This addition has probably extended the time before I grow out of the Nitro Max by about 2 years.
Be aware though, if you have never used real hihats before, you will notice a few things: the pedal will give you some resistance when pushing down, and depending on how tightly you mount it, you may feel vibrations in your foot from the pedal from your strokes (yet another feedback on your right hand technique, I suppose).
Those things aside, I still think it's a worthwhile investment if you're already invested in the Nitro Max kit.

Amazing little but "big" upgrade to your Alesis E-kit

Blown away from this small add on. Upgrades the Alesis nitro's mediocre Hi-hat pedal system to a real pedal. Installation is easy and if there are any problems you can contact the seller with really fast response rate. Cheers for this!!

Amazing uplift to the Alesis Nitro Max kit

This project was an amazing uplift to the Nitro Max kit. Having an actually hi hat stand to place the cymbal pad on gave a lot of natural feel to the ekit. Having proper resistance from the pedal and way more control over the hi hat. Absolute quality of life upgrade for the kit. Highly recommend!!
