A worthwhile upgrade

I had been looking to upgrade the video quality of my Commodore 64 and found RFOFF in a YouTube video. Mark, creator of The Retro Channel, described the device and gave clear instructions on how to install it. I ordered it, and it came from Australia to the U.S.A. in a reasonable time. It was well-packaged for the trip and didn't have any damage. The version I got had the HDMI connector to go with a VIC-II Kawari, because I may purchase that in the future. Installation was not too difficult for a novice solderer; the hardest part was removing the old RF modulator. The new RFOFF fit perfectly and worked without any trouble-shooting. Picture quality definitely improved, with only a faint, few jailbars still visible. I also like the configurable audio-output jack on the RFOFF. I have a SidKick Pico in my C64 and intend to use the jack for stereo output. All-in-all, I'm glad I chose the RFOFF. Mark was helpful in helping me choose the right model for my machine, and the build quality is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to order from him again, and I wish him well in his small business. His knowledge and experience are an asset to the retro community.

Must say its worked really good for my c128.. jailbars gone from.moderate to almost none. Only in vary limit ligt adjustment can i see var æitly jailbars.. so my exsperiense is vary vary good.

I've paired this board with the large Kawari Vic-II. Works great. Through further modifications, an HDMI sound embedder can be adapted to carry sound and video through one (HDMI) output cable.

Works beautifully

My Atari 2600jr had the worst picture quality I'd ever seen even after doing a simple composite mod - blurry, smeary colors, it looked awful.
Not after installing the Tiara, it has about the best picture I've seen an Atari output! Bonus is SVideo! I didn't think Atari 2600 graphics would be worth the bother of SVideo, but I was wrong - it looks fantastic!
Pretty easy install too if you're halfway decent at soldering! Very happy with this!
