What is it?

Door access control dev board. This board is normally loaded with SolarSystem access control, but is very general purpose and easy to make your own access control system.

It is also very compact meaning it can typical fit inside an electrical back box, or the back of an exit button box, or even inside the door making it very discrete.

Features of the board

• 6 GPIOs, typically for inputs such as door open, lock open, exit button, door bell, etc. Each with basic ESD diodes and series resistors and decoupling caps.
• Solid state relay, ideal for 12V door control, such as mag lock, or otherwise.
• Power from 12V, three of GND and there of power to allow easy wiring on to devices (such as lock, etc)
• 4 pin connection for NFC, with separate regulator to provide some short circuit protection.
• Tamper switch
• RGB LEDs for 6 GPIOs, and for relay, and status
• USB-C for debug, programming, etc.

SolarSystem

Solar System is an access control and alarm system that can integrate a number of PCB designs, and common devices such as Shelly relays and inputs to make a complete system. A hosted control centre is available or it can be self hosted, see https://ss.revk.uk/

A key feature for access control is that the NFC reader can work with DESFire for secure working (fobs cannot be duplicated, even if snooped on in use).

The system itself is also designed to operate off line for extended periods, with access permissions stored on DESFire fobs, checked using AES.
