What is it?

This is an awesome environmental monitoring board!

The board is mainly intended to accompany the Faikout controller boards providing a display and control button to control the aircon, but can be used as general LCD signage, or environmental monitoring, working with Home Assistant.

It has the advantage that it links over Bluetooth BLE so does not need MQTT or Home Assistant even. Wifi is used for set up and additional settings, etc. But this makes for a very simple and reliable install with the Faikout model for air-conditioning control. It is also designed to work over MQTT over WiFi to control a radiator or fan based on temperature, humidity, and CO₂, working a remote MQTT controlled switch.

The board can also work just as an environmental monitor, which you can use without the display module.

The board also has contacts for DS18B20 temperature probes, which are ideal for monitoring specific points (e.g. water tank, outside temp, etc). This is recommended.

The software can also monitor a range of Bluetooth BLE temperature sensors, and report these back to Home Assistant, and display, etc.

My pre-installed code works with the Faikout board, but you can load ESPhome code, or other, and I also have general display signage code with Home Assistant reporting of sensors than can be flashed. My code allows it to work in various orientations as needed.

Why did you make it?

The Faikout work well, but there are people that want a simple control with a simple button, especially in our guest room.
